Tour de France
As I have been away in France catching the end of the tour, I haven’t posted anything in a while. With this in mind I thought it was only fitting this Tuesday to forget about videos and concentrate on the ears with Kraftwerk’s “Tour de France”, click here to jump straight to it in your Spotify, Aero Dynamik is simply delicious. Also, hats off to Mark Cavendish, electric finishing.

UNKLE (feat. Radiohead/Thom Yorke) “Rabbit in Your Headlights”
Directed by John Glazer this is certainly up there with my favourite music videos of all time (songs pretty fucking good as well), 4.23 is one of the coolest things i’ve ever seen.

“Bruce”
At Poke we have just seen a delightful array of films from Alex of Agile Films, a production house down the road from us. One of the directors showcased was young animator Tom Judd, this is his graduation video from 2009 and its fucking sweet, so watch it. Bruce is an award winning animation that explores how advances in open-source synthetic biology allow a young man to grow his very own action hero.

Stepping Stone
Nice identity project from Hamish Makgill (StudioMakgill) for Stepping Stone, “a new production company that delivers broadcast quality content and expertise to the corporate and online video market. The company’s manifesto is to be masters of their craft and to conduct their business in a personal and friendly manner.”
Check out Makgill’s portfolio there are some really nice branding and identity projects to look at as well as some pretty nifty typefaces he has created.

Michael Jackson “Leave Me Alone”
As part of a want for a regular feature I will from now be uploading a favourite music video every Tuesday, lets call it Tuesday “Tuneday”, works in a really shit kind of way. Anyway this week I am going to kick things off with Michael Jackson’s “Leave Me Alone”, its scrapbook style stop frame animation is incredibly charming, and what a tune takes me straight back to life without public hair.
